Field Trip Guidelines

Remember to:

  1. Put your child’s name on the car seat.
  2. Drop off child’s car seat the morning of the field trip.
  3. Pick-up car seats at the end of the school day.

Please note: If your child is attending an after school program, the car seat will be sent with your child to the after school program.

GUIDELINES

  1. Every child must wear a seat belt and keep it on for the duration of the trip.  Students may not be double belted.  If the car is equipped with air bags, a child may not ride in the front seat.
  2. No food or gift items should be purchased by parents or students, unless purchased for the entire class, and prior arrangements have been made with the classroom teacher.
  3. Drivers should drive direclty to and from the field trip with no intermediate stops.
  4. Drivers are also chaperones.  They are asked to set the rules for behavior in their own car, and to keep control of, and take responsibility for, the students assigned to them.  Drivers should bring back only the students assigned to their car, unless a change is made with the teacher.
  5. Students are expected to cooperate with their chaperones, follow their rules, and to stay with their group.  Failure to cooperate can result in the student(s) being sent home or being excluded from the next field trip.  It is the responsiblity to take students on field trips, and for safety reasons, we must be certain that students will follow instructions from any adult on the trip, not just the teacher.
  6. In the event of any emergency, problem, or delay, the parent driver should inform the classroom teacher, if possible, and if that is not possible, call the school (510) 879-1110.
